Blessed and Thankful
Please accept my blessing that is brought to you, because God has dealt graciously with me, and because I have enough.” Genesis 33:11 ESV
I’m so thankful right now. It’s 7:51 on Thanksgiving morning and I can’t thank God enough for what He’s done for me. From the blessing of our new baby, to healing my body from last year’s injuries and giving me a clean bill of health as far as cancer, my Heavenly Father has been true to His word at every step. I can’t take a breath or go anywhere in my home without seeing some reminder of His goodness. I have wonderful children and a wife I adore.
Thankful but Still Working
I told my brother, Brian, last night that although I’m not satisfied with my current powerlifting numbers, I am still thankful for where I am, because if you had told me when I was a 5’7″, 125lb high school senior that I would be dissatisfied with deadlifting 500lbs for a double, I would have called you crazy.
My garage gym, while not the most lavish out there, has come a long way from the outdoor shed where I used to keep track of my sets by collecting pebbles. I have everything I need, including a brand new set of Bluetooth speakers that I just got for free.
Beyond that
I live in a country and at a time when I have the luxury of training my body. When I have the leisure time to worry about sets and reps and macronutrients. For that I’m eternally thankful and I dedicate every rep, every set, every PR to His glory because He is the source of all my success.
