Growth.
Without growth and change, life can’t continue. That applies to people and it applies to brands. What’s important to remember is that change can happen both in a positive and a negative direction.
Last fall, we made some changes to how we do business that turned out to be negative— straying from our core message of providing information and inspiration to athletes who train at home. Instead we tried to turn ourselves into an online clothing boutique. I’m not against apparel sales. I recognize that clothing helps build tribal identity with a brand. But not at the expense of our core ethos. So we backed off of the clothing sales. Got rid of our apparel website and instead switched back to a store on a print on demand website.
More importantly
We went back to our roots as an information resource. Back to simply promoting the home workout lifestyle and telling the stories of those who live it.
It feels like we’re back on track. Our YouTube channel is growing, articles on our website are seeing increased traffic. We’re building more followers on Facebook and Instagram. Our message is spreading. The apparel store is still there. We’re just not doing any more hard selling.
These are positive changes that represent the kind growth that we want. I’m happy to say that we’ve got more of those coming.
We haven’t given up on the goal of providing a digital magazine to our home gym audience. Something that’s a bit more in-depth than we can get on our website and that adds value in the form of workouts, more feature stories with top home based athletes and time friendly recipes.
As always
Our goal is to inspire you to chase your goals and empower you to achieve them in the best gym in town. The one you own.
