Some Background on the Aion Workout Vest
Both the Men’s and Women’s workout vests are made of what Aion calls “Neoprene/Nylon Airprene and Antimicrobial materials” and it feels a little like a wetsuit when you touch it. My uncle said that while the Aion Workout Vest felt snug and fit well, he could also feel the additional weights that are integrated into the Vest and after a few minutes, he could feel it providing warmth to his lower back which he thought would make difference in his normal warmup routine.

Here’s Why I Prefer This Vest
There are a lot of weighted vest options on the market, from a lot of established names with high profiles. What I don’t like about a lot of these weighted vests is that they are designed like a backpack, which moves the load behind your body and often forces excessive forward lean and can cause low back discomfort. Rucking and other forms of conditioning are tough enough without adding low back pain to them!
The type of workout vests that I prefer are designed to become part of your body. Meaning they fit snugly, and distribute the load evenly, so rather than feeling like you’re carrying something heavy, it’s as if you just gained weight temporarily. Aion definitely checks all of the boxes for all of these criteria!

The Men’s Workout Vest is available in sizes carrying 7 to 12.52 lbs (Approx. S=7, M=8, L=9, XL=10.2, XXL= 11.4, and XXXL=12.52). I remember when we began conditioning with SAPI plates in our flak jackets prior to my deployment to Iraq in 2004 and the thing that was the toughest to adjust to was how the plates caused our flak jackets to flap away from my body whenever we picked up the pace. That’s why I was glad when Aion gave me some input about selecting a size for my uncle that would fit him snugly. When we did the unboxing, I asked him about it and I was happy to hear from my uncle that the Workout Vest gave him a snug fit over his T-shirt but allowed him to maintain full range of motion while he tried multiple movements with it at a local park.
