The Static Monsters 2022 Preview video is available now on YouTube! I sat down with Static Monsters Melbourne, AK, co promoter, David Huckleby to talk about what he’s got planned for athletes and spectators in the first ever Static Monsters in the state of Arkansas!
Background
The Static Monsters is a one day worldwide strongman competition that occurs every October. Founded by Chad Croft, this competition is designed to introduce beginners and those who have competed previously in the sport of powerlifting to the sport of strongman. Every competition features two lifts, the Axle Deadlift and a Log Clean and Press. Competitors have three attempts and one minute per attempt to set a one rep maximum in both lifts for the chance to qualify to compete in the Static Monsters World Championships.
What To Expect
In addition to the Log Clean and Press and Axle Deadlift, competitors at Static Monsters Melbourne, AK will compete in a Farmers Carry event to qualify for United States Strongman Nationals 2023. In my conversation with David, we go over competition rules, his plans for the day of the competition and why he’s making the event completely free for spectators to watch.
