Meeting Social Media Followers In Person

Meeting social media followers isn’t something I’m accustomed to even after four years of doing this. I still get a touch of the fanboy at thinking that someone else is excited to talk to me simply because they’ve seen our stuff on Instagram.

So when Tricia King, casually walked up to our livestream booth at the United States Powerlifting Association (USPA) American Open/Military Nationals I thought she needed something to do with the meet. In my defense, she was dressed as a referee.

Then I said, “You know, you look familiar” and she casually replied with, “I have one of your banners,” I genuinely got excited.

Naturally, we took a selfie for the ‘Gram.

I Hope That I Never Take Meeting Social Media Followers In Person for Granted

I honestly hope that we grow tremendously and I just as fervently hope that I never get used to having people excited enough about our brand that they want to meet me.  I never want to take any of this for granted; not now while we’re small nor later after God blesses us.

I actually hope that the word continues to spread about us because if we had more name recognition, Christopher T. Young, who did such an awesome job at the meet, would have known how passionate I am about home gyms and home gym owners and we might have carved out time to interview him. As it was, he was in and out of there so fast, I didn’t learn that he’s a home gym owner until I followed him back on Instagram.

Missed opportunity. But I know there’ll be other chances to meet up.  After all, we’re following each other on Instagram now. It’s almost like being family right?
