Looking for a high quality power rack for your home gym? You should definitely give the Iron Bull Strength PR2 a long look. This rack comes in multiple colors, three different heights and is designed to be able to accommodate attachments from multiple brands so you’re not locked in to a single ecosystem.
If You’re Looking For a High Quality Power Rack Make Sure It Checks These Boxes
When I’m looking for a power rack, I want several things but chiefly I want it to
- be sturdy enough to support my current and future training
- be able to handle a wide variety of attachments especially as my training needs evolve
- fit within my price range
- look good in my training space
For me the Iron Bull Strength PR2 meets all of these criteria and more.
Overview and Specs
The Iron Bull Strength PR2 is a modular, 11 gauge steel, 75mm x 75mm power rack with 5/8 holes and 55 mm hole spacing from top to bottom. The rack is designed to be set up in multiple configurations to fit your training space and has six posts, four for training and two additional posts that can be used either for storage or for additional training options.

Pros and Cons
Pros
- It’s Spacious – At 42 inches across and 56 1/4 inches from front to back this rack has more than enough room for me to train inside without feeling cramped and it flat out looks great in our garage! My wife and I love the red and black color scheme and it was fairly simple to assemble with just the two of us.
- Cross brand compatibility – Every PR2 comes equipped with a rear storage extension, four pairs of weight storage pins and four band pins. But it’s purpose built to accommodate attachments from multiple brands. I’ve personally used it with attachments from Bells of Steel, Crandall Fitness and Microgainz and all of those attachments fit well without a hitch!
- It Looks Good – The PR2 looks awesome in our garage gym! It fits perfectly with the color scheme and red and black happen to be the colors of our favorite college football team so it’s like it was meant to be!
Unfortunately, nothing is perfect, so there are a couple of areas where the PR2 doesn’t perform as well as the competition.
Cons
- Lack of attachments – the PR2 is compatible with attachments from multiple brands and that’s a good thing because if you look on their website for attachments, you won’t see much there. The brand does have plans to add a functional trainer and some other rack accessories in the near future, but for now, you’ll have to look elsewhere for attachments.
- Price – While the PR2 isn’t what I would consider overpriced, it does come in at a higher price point than either the Rep PR-4000 with similar accessories or the Bells of Steel Hydra with similar accessories. On the plus side, shipping is free for any purchase over $150 so you won’t have to factor shipping costs into your purchasing decision at checkout.
Final Thoughts
Overall, if you’re looking for a high quality power rack for your home gym, I think the Iron Bull Strength is a good choice for a rack that you will be able to buy once and upgrade over time with attachments that fit your needs and training goals.
