Garage gyms are great, but there is nothing worse than swallowing a bug during your workout or not being able to swat away gnats by your face during a heavy lift.
During the warmer months, I love being able to open my garage door. It helps keep the garage gym cooler and let it that fresh air.
But how do you keep those pesty bugs out?
A garage door screen is a great solution.
Why you need a garage screen door
When it gets warm out, you probably want to open up those garage doors and let the fresh breeze in while your work out.
However, the reality is that bugs are everywhere. It doesn’t matter how your keep your lawn or where you live, chances are that the bugs are going to come into your home gym when the weather gets warmer.
A garage door screen is the best solution I’ve found to keep away bugs. I installed the LIAMSTLife garage door screen for a one-car garage.

How to choose a garage door bug screen
The first step for getting a garage door screen is to measure the opening of your garage. Be sure to measure both the width and height to find a screen that covers the entire opening. You don’t want one that is too short or narrow because the bugs will get through the gaps.
The LIAMSTLife garage door screen for one-car garage fits my garage door opening perfectly.

Magnetic opening
First, I appreciate the magnetic clips in the center of the screen that allow you to easily open the screen and walk through without letting many bugs in. This opening makes it convenient if I have to enter or exit my garage for any reason.
Because I hung my screen a little tight, the magnets don’t automatically close back up behind me every time, but they do close easily. Once they are closed, they provide a tight seal.
Weighted bottom hem
The LIAMSTLife garage door screen features a weighted hem on the bottom that helps keep the screen down and prevents bugs from flying in underneath. Since it isn’t really possible for the screen to make a perfect seal at the bottom, this weighted hem is a great feature.
Velcro sides and top
Another thing I like is that the top and the sides are held tight by Velcro strips. The strips come with an adhesive backing and were easy to install. All you have to do is stick the strips along the edges of the garage door opening.
If you want a more secure solution, you can also screw the Velcro strips in the garage frame. This can be a good option if you live somewhere very humid or if the adhesive backing wears off for any reason.
Ease of use
You can leave this screen up all the time, but I opt to take it down in between workouts because it is so easy to put up and take down. I like to take it down because it ensures it doesn’t get ripped or damaged. I simply undo the Velcro, fold it up, and put it away.
LIAMSTLife garage door screen final thoughts
I’m really happy with the LIAMSTLife garage door screen. It’s been a game changer for my warm weather workouts.
I’ve gotten so many other recommendations for keeping bugs out of the garage gym, but none of them worked as well as this garage door screen.
I like that this solution is simple, non-chemical, environmentally friendly and durable.
As long as you take care of the screen, it should last a very long time.
