We are 15 days away from our live stream of The Static Monsters 2021 and I’m super excited! This year’s Static Monsters will be huge, and according to event founder, Chad Croft, who I just spoke to, “This year we should break 1,000” participants even with COVID-19 lockdowns reducing the number of countries that can participate.
About Static Monsters
The Static Monsters is a worldwide log press and axle deadlift competition founded in 2015 by strongman competitor Chad Croft. Since that initial competition, it’s grown to feature participants from twenty countries and the addition of The Static Monsters World Championships. “Those who place in the top ten in their class in the Worldwide event are invited to compete in one big competition to see who is the best of the monsters,” which, along with the relative accessibility of strongman logs, wagon wheels and axles for the deadlift, makes this a great entry point for anyone interested in the sport of strongman. There’s not even a national membership fee! Just find an event near you, (in general, events aren’t closer than four hours apart), read what the organizer requires as far as entry fees, sign up, train (or not) and show up ready to rock on October 23!
It Sounds Simple Because It Is
In fact, because of the large number of weight classes, The Static Monsters is MORE accessible to competitors. Pretty important if you’re not one of the six foot plus giants who roam the landscape in countries like Iceland.
