Ep. 24 of our Interview playlist tells you “How To Compete in Powerlifting On Twitch“. Wes and Joe from the Average Joes OC powerlifting channel on Twitch joined John Greaves III to talk about how you can be a part of the the first ever Powerlifting meet on Twitch! This is similar to other online only lifting competitions we’ve sponsored in the past with shades of the now defunct CrossFit Open.
This Twitch powerlifting livestream is going to be a fun event to help bring the fitness community together. The event will start on August 30th – September 5th as home gym owners will record themselves lifting at home or another suitable location and send the videos to Average Joes OC.
The videos will be judged during a podcast/commentary style live stream on September 7th during which a panel of experienced judges will go over all of the lifts.
Because of the current COVID-19 pandemic and quarantine, many athletes are searching for outlets that will allow them to compete in their chosen sports and several online competitions have begun to fill that void.
In addition to the Twitch based competition, powerlifting coach, Melissa Avanessian, has promoted one online women’s only raw powerlifting meet this summer which was so well received that she promises to do another meet on Zoom this August.
Garage Gym Life Media was also a co-sponsor of the annual Garage Gym Competition which is an Instagram based, week long event featuring home gym lifters from around the world.
Watch brand new interviews each Sunday at 9:00 am Eastern time on the Garage Gym Life Media YouTube channel as we welcome fitness industry insiders from equipment manufacturers to coaches, supplement makers and other service providers, plus home gym based athletes to talk about the issues most relevant to home gym owners around the world.
